Pre-requisites:
Must have been certified within the past 2 years, please bring expired cards if available.
NOTES:
Review all materials before class, the class is not intended to teach you or to review all the material.  A brief review, question and answer session will be given.  All participants will be required to demonstrate competency in all required skills and pass the written exam with an 80% or higher.
Class Times:
3:00pm: CPR – PR, AED
5:00pm: Lifeguard Training and First Aid
FEES:
CPR / AED: $45
Lifeguard Training / First Aid: $60.00
CPR /AED / Lifeguard / First Aid: $75.00
No refunds will be given.

REGISTRATION MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2008 AT THE AQUATIC CENTER MAIN OFFICE. PAYMENT IN FULL IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF REGISTRATION.

 

University Recreation Lifeguard Training Course

Pre Requisites:

  1. 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course
  2. Swim 500 yards non-stop (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 mixed)
  3. Swim 20 yards, Recover 10 lb. Brick (10ft deep), swim back with both hands on brick.
  4. BE PREPARED TO DEMONSTRATE ABOVE SKILLS AT FIRST CLASS SESSION, ALSO BRING PROOF OF AGE (i.e. birth certificate, drivers license)

Cost:   $150.00: Payment due at Registration includes materials (textbook, pocket mask, and certification fees) Payment must be made at the Aquatic Center Main Office. Attendance at all sessions is required for successful completion of the course. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
Class Needs: Swimming suit, towel, goggles if desired, pen or pencil, note pad

Class Format:
The class will consist primarily of skill training sessions and short lectures to discuss main points from the lifeguarding manual. It is expected that all participants read the assigned chapters prior to the class. Please come prepared to class with pen/pencil, note paper, swim suit, towel.
